Galena and I are having a delightful time in the little town of Packwood, WA.  It's one of those small towns that doesn't feel like it's dying, which is a wonderful thing.  We're about to take off to spend some time camping up near Snow Grass Flats in the Goat Rocks wilderness.  We'll follow the PCT south from there, to a couple of lakes on the edge of the Mt. Adams wilderness.  We're anticipating that we'll run into some snow – it's about 6500 feet in elevation, and everybody's telling us there's snow up that way, but I think we can handle that.

Unlike the last couple of days, the weather is absolutely gorgeous – warm and sunny, with barely a cloud in the sky.  In the town of Packwood, from the window of our motel room, we've got a great view of the  south flanks of Rainier.  With any luck, once we get up onto the ridges, we'll get some views of Mt. Adams.

Take good care of yourself, and we'll check in sometime around Wednesday.

P.S. I noticed you had another blog posting!  Well done.  You've certainly got it all figured out.  And that's good news about Grandpa being back to about 95% weight bearing.  I'm guessing that he'll be ready for church next week.
