Back Home

Upgrade your email with 1000's of emoticon iconsIt was raining slightly as we left home at 7:30 on our way to see Dr. DeKorte--filled out papers--didn't wait long--Dr. came in--VERY friendly--we talked "relations" for awhile.  He is Andy D. 's son.  He mentioned John and Nan--g.parents and Burt and Dena D.  etc.  He really examined & examined and asked questions--many of them--had him walk etc.  --the girl took about 10 xrays (Dr.Veri always ordered 1 xray and that was always of the old fracture and the plate and screw--and they were doing just fine.) I think Dr. thinks there may be another small bone fracture???? But there is definitely something going on in there.   He also does toenails and asked if Elmer minded if he cut and buffed them.  What a treat!!!  He made notes on his computer constantly.  They are VERY busy in there.  His next appt. is next Thursday at 7:30 am--they are full up--otherwise it would be 2 weeks.

So thank you to Family and Carol DeKorte for rec. this very special Dr. and for getting to see him so soon.

Need to hear.  gg

THURSDAY

Upgrade your email with 1000's of cool animationsWe just finished our lite dinner.  E and I made a soup.  Larry had been to a meeting in Ashland and stopped here on his way home.  I fed him lunch and he left for home while we were eating.  But we had a good visit.

It has rained very lightly today (lite as usual).

Wonder what is happening up in Washington--weatherwise that is.

At 1 am Elmer dear had not been asleep--he actually took 2 IBUPROFEN PILLS!!!!!!  His injured leg was painful--better today!!!!

Just think if I didn't tell you about all of our owies you prob. wouldn't hear from me.  I wouldn't have anything to write about.

We plan to leave about 7:30 am tomorrow for the doc. office.

BB, thanks so much for the email you sent from Breck.  Trust you 4 are home safe and sound by now.  Those Kidlets of yours will be out-skiing their parents soon.

Need to hear and Bud needs to hear.  GG

MID-WEEK

Upgrade your email with 1000's of emoticon iconsElmer dear is down for the second time today--didn't sleep last nite so needed 2 naps.  This is his left leg--a chunk of wood--rolled down--2 different days--2 chunks of wood--the wounds have healed over but is seems to be sore and painful inside.  So Amber Lee came to check on him and brot some new and different bandages.  We had a good visit also.  So hopefully this will help.

The right ankle still wants to wobble or whatever.  95 next mo.

Larry called a bit ago--talked a bit --and then their dinner guests just drove up--the fellow is president of THE WOODLANDS so they should have a good visit.

Nice weather today.  My goodness, how long will it take for the flooding water to recede and what a mess it will leave behind.  I wonder if Caedmon will make it down--don't see how.  Also did Galena call her parents (new house on the coast).

Today was our  BIG dinner day--had cubed steak etc.

Yesterday when I was at Wal+Mart--Aushna--friend of Amber's--happened to be in there.  We had a very good visit--she hugged me about 3 times--she is VERY pretty--1/2 Indian.  They live in Ashland--used to go to Harvest but the First B. Church in Ashland is about 3 min. away and their little 5 yr. old son loves the S.S. Class etc. so----

Bud just went outside--but not for long.

Send news.  GG

GEORGEOUS WEATHER

Upgrade your email with 1000's of emoticon iconsTalk about a beautiful and gorgeous day..It was sunny and warm all day--no rain and no wind.

Mid morning Bud and I went to Wal+Mart--stopped for gas first--1/2 tank $35.00--and there was not much at the P.O.

Do you know what--several hours later I wondered where Bud was--no where to be found.  I forget to let him out of the car.  He was sleeping so sound Elmer could barely wake him up.  But that is the way Bud is--so compliant.  He is such a good and gentle dog.  Thank you, Keith.

Elmer worked outside for several hours--far too long but for one thing he had to do was fasten down the cover over the wood--ready for the next wind.

When I came home I swept and raked leaves by the jillions--too long--back gave out--had to quit.

For 25 years Elmer had a cover (special cover) for the chimney-- to keep the rain from running down inside.  WELL, THE WIND BLEW IT OFF SOMETIME YESTERDAY.  So now he has to repair and get that back on some way.  (This proves we did have a "brisk breeze" yesterday.)

This early afternoon a young lady came down our long driveway--pushing a baby cart--new baby--she is new to Phoenix but she had heard there was a long path somewhere running along Bear Creek and she thot for sure this must be it.  She said about a month ago they moved up above us--2nd house on the left going up the hill--very cute baby boy--(not as cute as Caedmon, tho)and so we visited and she is very friendly and she is going to have us up for dinner along with another couple up above???????????  She evidently has more energy than I do.  She is in her 30's--had to wait to find a very special man to marry.

I think I shall put Elmer dear down for a rest--was up too long today.

Larry has too many SAD stories to tell about his students--some very sad cases.

THIS WEATHER IS NOT FIT FOR MAN NOR BEAST.

[User Made]
This weather finally arrived and it is not fit for man nor beast.  It seems we have had hi winds for 2 or 3 days BUT today the rain arrived along with it--not a heavy rain but it is wet  never the less.

And of all days we 3 headed for Dr. Newton's office--left home about 9:45 and it was rainy and it was windy.  Dr. Newton is on the second floor of their new building.  It is really nice inside and out.  Well Dr. went thru all the previous x-rays and reports from the ankle doc.  He decided that Elmer prob. has nerve damage (neuropathy) in his right foot.  He thinks it would be a very good idea to see Dr. DeKorte (he likes him and has been to him).  He does feet and ankles.  So we plan to see him the end of this mo. (sooner if they get a cancellation)  Dr. Newton said he would also rec. another doc. who could fit him with a brace--but if I know my Dumpy he would not like to have to wear a brace.  Also I have the feeling since Elmer is almost 95--what is the big deal--live with it.  And take some pain med.

Soon we shall dine on chicken, sw.pot. Irish pot.--veggies etc.  Pumpkin pie also.

NOT A NICE DAY--WEATHERWISE

Upgrade your email with 1000's of cool animationsBoo, the wind came up during the nite and it is still "coming up". There is a sprinkle or two now and then.  No use sweeping the oodles of leaves at the three back doors!!!! And down the steps!!!

Rose called and when they get rain they get rain--nite and day.   They didn't even eat out today after church--too rainy--came home (like we do)

Well, we attended Harvest--absolutely full house--but for some reason--Pastor Bob was on the platform BUT his brother, Pastor Mike, preached--I shouldn't say OOFTA but everytime we have heard him I would say that.  His voice is scratchy anyway but he will talk softly and THEN practically scream--it is horrible.  Elmer has to plug an ear because it hurts so much.  He preached for over an hour.  I wanted to walk out but of course we couldn't do that.  We have heard him before--always the same.  He sometimes takes over when Bob is gone but Bob was not gone???????  He mostly travels out of town and fills in for other churches etc.  I was a nervous wreck--waiting for the next LOUD whatever.  Enough of this.

Elmer dear just went down for a nap as did THE BUD.

Brian, let us know which Tuesday on Discovery you will be featured on the Everest Program.

Ha Ha, we had a long tel call last evening from Kenneth.  Anything you need to know just ask GG.  I have the answers--otherwise I will keep all the answers.  He said it was snowing in Seattle--even sticking on the freeways!!!!

I wonder how much snow Longview rec. Lloyd said it was snowing there.

We need to know how Helen's brother, John, is doing.  That all sounds VERY serious.

Well, let me see--I think this is all that I know until I hear from YOU.

AGAIN IT IS THE DAY BEFORE SUNDAY

Upgrade your email with 1000's of emoticon iconsWhy did my little guys come back--I didn't do anything due to the fact that I didn't know what to do.  I really thot Kenneth would come flying down to help his Gma.  Caedmon would not miss him for a few days--after all K. has been at Keith's Cabin for a few days on business.

We are making soup for this early afternoon dinner.  You can see who is doing the work.

I redressed Elmer dear's 2 owies on his left leg.  It is taking a long time for them to heal but they look much better.

I just found a little note that said, "Keith brought me  my first computer--June 11 1998''.  (He still lived in G.P.)   One would think after all of these years I would know a little bit about the computer.

Fog early this am.

Bud and I had better help in the kitchen.  Need to know how John is doing.  This condition sounds VERY serious.
